Boom Battle Bar at The O2 is a competitive socialising venue tucked inside the entertainment district by the arena in Greenwich Peninsula. It packs shuffleboard in alongside augmented-reality darts, American pool, axe throwing, beer and prosecco pong, crazier golf and private karaoke booths, spread over two floors. It suits groups, birthdays and pre-gig drinks before a show at The O2, and works just as well as a date-night detour.

The single most useful thing to know: you can walk in, but games run first-come first-served, so booking ahead is the way to lock in your shuffleboard slot. It is family-friendly before 9pm, then strictly 18+ after. Bundles start at £27.50 per person, with £5 house drinks and a happy hour on cocktails earlier in the week.

The shuffleboard setup

Shuffleboard sits in the games line-up next to AR darts, pool, axe throwing and crazier golf, so you can build a session around it rather than play one thing all night. Games are pay-to-play and run on a first-come first-served basis when you walk in, which is why pre-booking is worth it on busy evenings and weekends. Most people fold shuffleboard into a BOOM Bundle that bundles a couple of activities with drinks, then drift between boards across the two floors. Good for mixed-ability groups since the rules take seconds to pick up.

Good to know

Bundles start from £27.50 per person, and you can book online for groups of up to 12. Walk-ins are welcome but not guaranteed a game, and there is a £10 per-person charge for no-shows, late cancellations or arriving more than 15 minutes late. House drinks are £5, with 2-for-1 cocktails from 4pm to 7pm Monday to Thursday. Under-18s are welcome with an adult until 9pm; after that it is strictly 18+, and Challenge 25 applies so bring ID. Axe throwing is 18+ only at any time.

Getting there

The venue is at 23 Entertainment Avenue, SE10 0DY, inside the entertainment strip around The O2. North Greenwich is the nearest station on the Jubilee line, a short walk away, and it is an easy stop-off before or after a gig at the arena. There is a Saturday brunch slot too, the Big BOOM Brunch, with rotating themes if you fancy daytime over a late one. Email o2@boombattlebar.com for group enquiries.
