Cousins is a proper two-floor snooker and pool club above the shops on Fore Street in Edmonton, the kind of place that runs late and takes its tables seriously. The ground money-maker is the first floor: seven English pool tables and one American, a bar, seating and a dart board. Head up to the second floor for five full-size Riley snooker tables. It suits anyone who actually wants to play rather than just have a drink near a table, and it is a member venue in the Enfield District Pool League.

The most useful thing to know: it is open noon to 2am every day, so it is one of the few places nearby you can get a frame in well after the pubs wind down. You pay by the hour and walking in is fine.

The table setup

Two floors, thirteen tables. The first floor has seven English pool tables (Winner Supreme 7ft, the World Eightball Federation spec) plus a single American pool table, so league players and casual potters both get a fit. Upstairs is the quieter snooker floor: five full-size Riley snooker tables with heated beds and proper cloths, plus comfortable seating if you are waiting on a frame. There is also a professional darts setup if you fancy a change. Cues and re-tipping are sorted on site through the cue shop.

You pay per hour and rates sit around £10.50 for English pool, £12 for American, £11 for snooker and £5 for darts.
