The Old School Yard London Bridge: Karaoke
The Old School Yard is a school-themed cocktail bar on Long Lane, a short walk from London Bridge station, with two private karaoke rooms tucked away from the main bar. It suits groups: birthdays, after-work crowds and date nights who want to sing without an audience of strangers.
The most useful thing to know is how it is priced. There is no room hire fee. Instead you commit to a minimum drink spend, so the cost goes on the bar tab rather than a separate booking charge. Sessions run for two hours, you book online with instant confirmation, and both rooms have air conditioning plus touchscreen systems loaded with more than 6,000 songs. It is open Tuesday to Saturday evenings, closed Sunday and Monday.
The karaoke setup
There are two private rooms. The small one is comfortable for about five or six people and squeezes up to eight. The large one fits around eight to twelve comfortably and up to twenty at a push. Each room has a touchscreen system with over 6,000 songs spanning 14 categories, from 80s anthems and 90s bangers to disco, rock, hip hop, R&B and musical theatre. All rooms are air conditioned. You can order drinks straight from a touchscreen in the room, so you do not have to break off your set to queue at the bar.
Good to know
Sessions are two hours and start at 6pm, 8pm or 10pm, with extra 4pm slots on Saturdays. Booking is online with instant confirmation rather than walk-in. There is no hire fee, but each room carries a minimum drink spend: the small room from £100 and the large from £150 Tuesday to Thursday, rising on Friday and Saturday and again through December. Food is available to order separately. Cancellations need seven days notice or you are charged in full, so lock in your numbers before you book.
