Board Game Night

Board games, community, a pub. Duchess of Kent runs the gathering on that simple premise: bring your own game, or play from what's available. The community setup is the key; it's built to be open rather than exclusive, so you're not waiting to be invited into an existing group.

An evening like this works because you get a reason to be out, something specific to do, and the social part flows from that rather than being forced. No pretense, no agenda. Just games and people who actually wanted to play.
