Jack the Joker

The Bishop runs a weekly card hunt. Fifty-two cards locked in a cupboard, one Joker to find. A pound gets you a go. Find it and you win ten quid. Miss, and the pot carries forward to next week.

It's a game of pure chance. No strategy, no poker face needed. A pound is low stakes, the prize modest but possible. The real draw is the ritual itself: a weekly gathering of strangers all hunting the same card, all in on the same bet. The game's the excuse, the pub's the point.
