Bands and Poetry Night

The Boogaloo marks the first Wednesday of each month with a night that mixes live bands and spoken word poetry. It's a specific kind of bill, the sort that pulls in people who want more than just another gig.

Poetry brings weight to a music night. You get the raw energy of live playing, then the stillness of words hitting from the stage. The two attract their own crowds, so the room carries something of both vibes. There's always someone there to hear the words, someone for the music, and usually someone curious about how they'll sit together.
