Wilde's life was more dramatic than his plays. This show follows Oscar through his brightest years and his ruin, using his own words and the memories of those around him. Alastair Whatley carries it, and Michael Fentiman (Amelie, Jekyll & Hyde) brings the theatrical scale you'd expect from someone comfortable with big ensemble work.
It's theatre that doesn't explain. You'll get more from it if you already know roughly who Wilde was and what he lived through. The show conjures the man himself - angry, funny, undone. Limited London run.
