The Andover Estate in Islington carries a reputation that doesn't match the people who live there. This verbatim play takes that gap seriously, giving voice to residents who've been misread for decades: a retired ballerina, a youth worker, someone trying to get the council to listen, a neighbour who wants to play African drums. The stories span 50 years of life on the estate, built from what residents actually say matters to them.

Verbatim theatre can feel like an archive, but this blends storytelling with digital media to keep it present. It comes from interviews with academics at London Metropolitan University, adapted by writer-director Tony Graham, and rooted in the Andover Estate Community Centre. If you're interested in how community actually works - what holds neighbourhoods together when everyone's telling you they fall apart - it's worth going to.
