Quiz Night

Wednesday quiz nights at The Rising Sun are the kind of low-stakes social thing that London does well. Two quid entry, and the prizes are worth playing for. A proper food and bar tab for first place, free pizzas for the rest. They layer in bonus drink questions and a rollover jackpot to keep the room engaged even if trivia's not your strongest suit.

It's the format that makes it work. You're there with mates for a laugh, not to prove you're London's cleverest person. The wood-fired pizzas and decent pub drinks mean it doesn't feel like you're just renting table space for two hours. Wednesday's the night you show up for that kind of thing.

Come for the trivia, stay because it's exactly the casual outing that makes a weeknight feel less like a grind.
