Alma Pearl

Hackney

1 upcoming event

Alma Pearl is an art venue in N1, and it suits people who like to go in without knowing exactly what they'll see. The programming tends towards contemporary work, where the idea matters as much as the object. Expect pieces that test a form rather than repeat one. Performance and installation-led work, the kind that asks for a bit of patience, seems to be what the space is built around. The crowd is usually people who come for the work and the conversation afterwards. Artists, students and regulars who follow the programme closely make up a good share of the room. If you want to talk to someone who knows the work, arrive early. Go in with an open mind and you'll get the most out of it.
