Blackheath Halls' Great Hall is a room for young audiences and the adults who bring them. Most of what it hosts is family theatre, puppet and storytelling shows based on picture books, and seasonal sing-alongs where the whole room ends up joining in. The programming is gentle and made for small ears and short attention spans. The shows tend to be warm, funny and easy to follow, with plenty of audience participation. That makes it a good choice if you have children or grandchildren to take out. Expect a mix of parents, carers and grandparents, and a lot of singing that nobody minds. For a night out without children, this is probably not the room.
