General Assembly

Mayfair

General Assembly is an art venue in W1S, and it rewards a bit of curiosity. The programme leans towards artists whose work sits between drawing, text and image. Some names carry real weight. Others are still building theirs. That mix is part of the appeal. The crowd tends to be people who like to look properly: artists, art school people, and regulars who come back to see how a practice develops. You won't find much passive scrolling here. Expect work that asks you to slow down, read the wall text and look at the details. If you like art that feels personal rather than polished, this is a good place to start.
