Japan House London

Kensington

1 upcoming event

Japan House London is an art venue with a clear focus. It looks at Japan through culture, design and fashion, and it doesn't try to cover everything at once. The programming tends to ask questions rather than give easy answers. Exhibitions look at how tradition holds up against change, and how style grows out of everyday local life. You'll often see work from outside Tokyo, which is a useful reminder that Japan is many places. The crowd is mixed. Design students, people who follow Japanese fashion, and anyone who likes a show with a real idea behind it all end up here. You don't need prior knowledge. Come with curiosity and you'll leave with more questions than you arrived with.
