Notting Hill Farmers' Market is a long-running London Farmers' Markets (LFM) producer market tucked away just south of Notting Hill Gate in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. Established back in September 1999 and often called one of W11's best kept secrets, it brings farmers and food producers from the countryside around London into the city every Saturday morning. The market runs rain or shine and operates a smoke-free, bring your own bag policy, with most stalls now taking card payments. It is a genuine farm-to-stall market rather than a street food fair, so you meet the people who actually grow, bake and rear what they sell.

Opening times

The market is open every Saturday from 10am to 2pm, all year round. It runs rain or shine, so it goes ahead through the colder months as well as summer. Arrive earlier in the morning for the fullest choice, as popular producers can sell out of seasonal items. Note that not every stallholder attends every week.

What's on the stalls

Expect fresh fruit and vegetables straight from farms such as Wild Country Organics, Perry Court Farm, Ted's Veg, Brambletye Farm and Chegworth Valley. Alongside the produce you will find meat, poultry and game, fish, cheese, unpasteurised dairy, bread and baked goods, eggs, fresh pasta and pestos, cultivated and wild mushrooms, local honey and seasonal flowers. There are also cooked foods to eat there or take home. Everything is sold by the producer, so you can ask exactly where and how it was grown or made.

Around the market / getting there

The market sits just off Notting Hill Gate in the W8 part of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, a short walk down towards Kensington Place and the streets behind the main road. Notting Hill Gate Underground station (Central, Circle and District lines) is the closest stop, only a few minutes' walk away. The area is well known for Portobello Road and its antiques and food shops, so it pairs easily with a wider Saturday browse. Entry is free and you only pay for what you buy.
