Peckham Carboot
Peckham Carboot is one of south east London's best loved fortnightly car boot sales, set up on the playground of Harris Academy Peckham just off Bellenden Road. Running since 2019, it has grown into a Sunday institution that pulls in well over 150 sellers arriving by car and on foot, laying out their wares on sheets, tables and clothing rails. Crowds of fashion-minded students, vintage dealers and bargain hunters queue down the residential street before the gates open, all chasing one-of-a-kind finds. It is as much a social occasion as a shopping trip, running rain or shine.
Opening times
Peckham Carboot runs every other Sunday from mid-February through to December, from 10:00 to 14:00. Arrive early if you want first pick of the best stalls, as the keen crowds and dealers form a queue down the street well before the gates open. The earliest entry slots cost more, so a slightly later arrival is cheaper but the choice thins out as the morning goes on.
What's on the stalls
This is a treasure hunt rather than a tidy retail row. Sellers spread out vintage and secondhand clothing, retro homeware, jewellery, cameras, books, records and assorted bric-a-brac. Expect plenty of fashionable pre-loved pieces alongside genuine hidden gems, with prices open to a friendly haggle. Bring cash, as most traders deal in notes and coins.
Around the market / getting there
The sale is held at Harris Academy Peckham, 112 Peckham Road, SE15 5DZ, with the entrance just off Bellenden Road by the astro turf playground. Peckham Rye and Queens Road Peckham stations are both a short walk away, and limited street parking can be found on Lyndhurst Way and Highshore Road. Pair a visit with brunch and the independent shops along Bellenden Road or a wander through nearby Peckham Rye park.
