Jubilee Rooms: Pub in Walthamstow, London

Jubilee Rooms is a community space in Walthamstow, and it feels like one. Much of what happens here is run by local groups with a regular membership and a core of faithful members. You won't find it on every list, which is part of the appeal. If you want to see how Walthamstow gathers, this is a good place to start. The programming leans toward social groups for older residents, along with meetings and talks where the company matters as much as the event. Expect a room that gets used, not styled. Chairs get moved, and newcomers are usually welcomed without fuss. It suits you if you like seeing a neighbourhood from the inside.
