Cask Wednesday

Cask ale is the litmus test for whether a place takes beer seriously. The Shirker's Rest in Lewisham has clearly done the work, CAMRA recognized it, and for good reason. Every Wednesday, you get the payoff: all cask pints for £4, all day.

The rotating line-up is why people come back. There's always something new to try, which is the whole point of a micropub that actually cares about cask. Wednesday becomes a standing plan.

In South London, a small place that focuses on one thing and does it well is worth knowing about. Fair price, changing selection, and the kind of spot where everyone's talking about what's on tap.
