The British Academy 10-11 Carlton House Terrace London

Westminster

Some rooms are for hearing the argument. This is one of them. The British Academy at Carlton House Terrace leans toward talks, panels and debate, where the subject matters more than the staging. The programming tends to take on uncomfortable public questions, like women's health and whose experiences get overlooked in medicine and policy. It treats those questions as serious ones. You'll usually find a room of people who came to think, not just to be entertained. Researchers, students, policy people and curious Londoners who want more than the headline. Questions from the floor are part of the point. Go in expecting an evening that asks something of you. Bring a question of your own.
