The Globe Theatre's in SE1 and does classical theatre. Shakespeare and the traditional repertoire, the plays that have carried through centuries. This is where you go when you want to see those works staged really well, with skill and precision, without fringe gimmicks or interpretations that bend the material out of shape. Everyone in the room knows what they're there for. There's a real rigour to it, from the casting to the staging to how everything comes together. The material and the craft get proper attention. You know what you're signing up for, and that's exactly what you get. If classical repertoire done well is your thing, this is the venue.
