South Kensington (Saturdays) Farmers' Market
South Kensington Farmers' Market is a weekly producer-only market that fills pedestrianised Bute Street every Saturday morning, a five-minute walk from South Kensington tube. Run by London Farmers' Markets, it brings more than forty stallholders from farms and small food businesses across the south of England into one of West London's most genteel corners. Everything is grown, reared, baked or made by the people selling it, so you can talk directly to the farmer or baker behind the produce. Dogs are welcome and the market stays open rain or shine.
Opening times
The market is open every Saturday from 9am to 2pm, year round and rain or shine. Arrive early if you are after the fresh south coast fish and shellfish or the most popular bread, as the best stock can sell out before lunchtime. There is no admission charge; you simply pay the individual stallholders for whatever you buy.
What's on the stalls
Expect a genuine producer-only line-up of over forty traders. There are seasonal fruit and vegetables from farms such as Perry Court Farm, Akiki Organics and Brambletye, fresh fish, crab, lobster and scallops from Dorset Fish, free-range poultry from Fosse Meadows and free-range sausages from Parsons Ridge, grass-fed lamb, venison and game in season. Alongside the fresh produce you will find artisan bread, cakes and pastries from Olivier's Bakery and Honeypie, cheese, charcuterie, fresh pasta, jam, honey, flowers and ready-to-eat hot food to take away or eat on the street.
Around the market / getting there
Bute Street is a short pedestrianised street running off Old Brompton Road in South Kensington, postcode SW7 3EX. It is roughly five minutes on foot from South Kensington Underground station, served by the District, Circle and Piccadilly lines. The surrounding neighbourhood is home to the South Kensington museums and plenty of cafes, so the market pairs naturally with a wider morning out.
