Contemporary Intermediate with Jenny Hayes

Intermediate contemporary dance is where precision starts to serve something larger. Tuesday sessions with Jenny Hayes at The Place focus on that shift: you know how to move, now it's about listening, to music, to weight, to space. Technique and musicality aren't separate concerns here. A movement can be technically exact and empty. It can be raw and full of intent. The difference is musicality, the responsiveness to sound.

These sessions build that. If you're at intermediate level, you're where technique stops being the whole story. The work treats musicality and precision as equal partners, that's what makes contemporary dance interesting. It's not just about the shape you make; it's about why that shape matters in that moment.
