The café

House rules
The house rules are published on the site. They open by calling the café a queer-safe space and asking you to behave accordingly. You may not photograph other guests without their consent, nobody under 18 gets alcohol, and glasses have to stay inside after 23:00. To reserve, email info@saarein.nl.
History
In 1978 ten women took over the bar from Saar and Rein, whose names it carries. Dia Roozemond was later the owner for 25 years. Today a new generation carries it on through the foundation.

The address is Elandsstraat 119 in the Jordaan. The café is closed on Monday and Tuesday. It opens at 16:00 on the other days, and closes at 01:00 on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and at 02:00 on Friday and Saturday.
