Casablanca at Zeedijk 26 has been around since 1946 and works the old way: one bar, one microphone, no booths and no reservation. Its site says it opens Wednesday to Saturday, with free entry on karaoke nights.
Sing Sing on Rembrandtplein runs open karaoke every evening as well as private rooms. Los bij Jos on Korte Reguliersdwarsstraat leans towards Dutch hits and karaoke nights.
Private rooms
Ganbei Karaoke on Korte Leidsedwarsstraat publishes the clearest prices: two hours of private karaoke at €13 per person from Sunday to Thursday and €15 on Friday and Saturday. Sing Sing has six themed rooms for 4 to 25 people, and quotes rooms from €10 per person on its site.
World of Karaoke on La Guardiaweg in Sloterdijk pairs private rooms with a cocktail bar and says it has more than 100,000 songs in 50 languages. Cafe Hole in The Wall on the Leidseplein also has private karaoke. 24K Karaoke Bar on Halvemaansteeg, Duke of Tokyo on Reguliersdwarsstraat, KTV Bar and The End Karaoke, both on Nieuwebrugsteeg, complete the central list.
Karaoke as one of several things
Aloha on De Ruijterkade, The All Out on Europaboulevard, Pong on Jan van Galenstraat and House of Watt on James Wattstraat all have karaoke alongside other activities, which is useful if not everyone in the group wants to sing.
