About CC Amstel

CC Amstel is a neighbourhood theatre in Amsterdam's De Pijp, tucked behind the Pestana hotel at the end of the Tolstraat, close to the Amstel. It is the place to see dance, theatre, youth shows and work made with people from the area, in a modern hall with 150 seats.

Since January 2019 the house has had its own production arm, Clubhuis Producties. Its focus is social-artistic work: residents from every part of the city, and De Pijp in particular, help make and programme the shows. Alongside those productions the agenda takes in touring dance and theatre, family shows and festivals, and early-career artists hang exhibitions in the building.

The theatre hall, new in 2018, has a flat floor and a colourful raked stand. One floor down is a soundproofed studio that seats up to 45. The building is shared with a branch of the OBA library and the café opens an hour before a show for drinks and snacks, not meals. Tickets are sold on the website and, on show nights, at the box office. Most performances have unreserved seating.

The theatre seats 150. Tickets cannot be reserved or refunded, doors open a few minutes before the start, and latecomers are not let in. Drinks stay out of the hall, and the box office and café take cards only. Tram 4 stops at Lutmastraat, about four minutes' walk away, and from Wibautstraat metro it is about 14 minutes on foot. Street parking is paid from Monday to Saturday, 09:00 to 24:00. A quiet room can be arranged if you email well ahead.
