About Waterhouse Studios
Waterhouse Studios is a music studio complex and small event space on the Danzigerkade in the Houthaven in Amsterdam, built by DJs and musicians. Go for a label or artist showcase in a room for up to 120 people, or rent a studio if you make music yourself.
The events are mostly label showcases and recurring resident series, and many are broadcast live on Waterhouse Radio, the in-house online stream on Twitch and YouTube. The calendar and tickets are on Resident Advisor and DICE, and the space opens per event rather than to regular hours. It has also served as an official Amsterdam Dance Event venue. Around the event room are more than 14 acoustically designed studios and ateliers, rented by the hour or by the month, and a stream room with CDJs, a mixer, a broadcast mic and cameras.
Waterhouse is aimed squarely at people who work in music. Studios run at 24-bit / 96 kHz and are fitted out for recording, mixing and producing, and every tenant gets use of the stream room. There is also an artist residency for more than 15 resident DJs, producers and musicians, with workshops, mentoring, performance slots and help finding paid work. The people you meet at a showcase here are often the ones who work in the building.
