WestWeelde: Club in Westerpark, Amsterdam
WestWeelde is a club, restaurant and event venue on the Westergas site in Westerpark, Amsterdam, with several rooms in old gasworks buildings. Go for a club night in the big industrial hall upstairs, or for lunch or dinner on the covered terrace next to the Gashouder. The club side opens per event, so check the agenda rather than looking for fixed hours. Nights run from techno and hip-hop to latin and disco. De Unie, on the first floor with a balcony around the hall, holds about 800 for a party and De Liefde about 400. Het Restaurant takes around 200, and there is a fourth room, De Wester, in the former Transformatorhuis. The restaurant sometimes closes for private events, so look before you book. The name is recent. Westergasterras started here in 2005, club nights began in 2007, and for years WesterUnie and WesterLiefde were known separately. In March 2025 all of it came together under the name WestWeelde. The rooms also host presentations, dinners and parties, and it is a recognised wedding location. The Westergas site is largely car-free and about 2.5 km from Centraal. Buses 21 and 22 and tram 19 stop nearby. At night bus N83 runs between Centraal and the Van Limburg Stirumstraat stop. Terrace tables are not reserved for lunch or dinner, only high tables for drinks groups. Q-Park Westerpark is a few minutes' walk away.
