Good to know

Booths and songs

The Amsterdam Centre branch has eight karaoke booths, each decorated differently, for groups of up to 25 people. The booth price includes a karaoke system with Bose speakers, two wireless microphones and a tablet for ordering drinks. The catalogue runs to more than 20,000 songs from SUNVIG in many languages and genres. You can request a missing song, but it can take months to appear and the venue does not control the list.

If no later booking follows yours, you can keep singing for a fee. If the booth is taken, staff will check whether another one is free.

Booking and prices

Booking is online only and paid in advance. There is no waiting list. The price depends on the day and time, not on how many people come, so a smaller group pays the full booth price. Cancel more than 72 hours ahead and you get a full refund minus a €5 fee. Inside 72 hours the full amount is charged. You can move a booking up to 72 hours before it starts, subject to availability. Each group leaves a physical deposit at reception during the session, which covers the drinks bill.

Drinks and the bar

The menu covers house and classic cocktails, sake, spirits and alcohol-free drinks. Drinks come to the booth, and you can pre-order them when you book and change the order up to 12 hours ahead. There are no drink packages. Food is not served in Amsterdam, and outside food and drink are not allowed, though a birthday cake is fine if you say so in the booking and bring your own plates. The bar needs no reservation, but capacity is limited, and DJs play on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. To reserve a table, email the day, time and number of guests to sing@dukeoftokyo.com.

Age limits and access

Under-16s can book a booth with a parent or guardian, and the venue suggests a weekend afternoon slot. Ages 16 to 18 can come without supervision, but no alcohol is served to anyone under 18, and a group with mixed ages cannot order alcohol in the booth. There is no dress code.

There is a 270 kg ramp for the entrance step and all wheelchair sizes can reach the bar, but there are no wheelchair-accessible toilets. Smaller booths may feel tight at full capacity, so call ahead. Duke of Tokyo also has a branch in De Pijp at Ferdinand Bolstraat 44H.
