The Poolbar is a pool bar at Voetboogstraat 3-B, in the lanes behind the Spui, with eight tables in three sizes, darts and free board games. You pay per minute and play for as long as you like, so there is no need to plan a session. It suits walk-in groups, a long evening over a beer jug and anyone who wants pool in the centre until 02:00 or later.

Good to know

The tables

There are eight tables: two of 9 feet, four of 7 feet and two of 6 feet. When all of them are in use, staff put you on a waiting list and tell you when you can play.

How it works

Tables are charged by the minute and you can stay as long as you want. The rate is not published on the website, so ask at the bar. Smaller groups can simply walk in, as reservations are only for groups of 8 or more.

More than pool

Darts is on offer too, and free board games and Jenga are available at the bar. Big screens show live sport through ESPN, so the place works on a match day even if you never pick up a cue.

Food and drink

Beer comes by the jug, and the house mentions food and drinks to go with the games on screen. The website does not publish a menu, so check what is available when you get there.

When to go

The bar opens daily at 12:00. It closes at 02:00 from Sunday to Thursday and at 03:00 on Friday and Saturday. While you wait for a table, the free board games are there to fill the time.
