Club Dauphine: Music venue in Omval, Amsterdam

Club Dauphine is a dinner-and-concert night at Café-Restaurant Dauphine on the Prins Bernhardplein roundabout in Amsterdam Oost. Every other Friday you get a four-course dinner while the Club Dauphine band and guest artists play in front of your table, and when the plates are gone the room becomes a dance floor. Friday Night Live is the fixed format. You can buy a table at the foot of the stage or just come for a drink at the bar. Dinner and the band start at the same moment, so guests are asked to arrive a little beforehand. The line-up stays secret until two days before and is then announced on Instagram. Weekend concerts on a Saturday or Sunday have their own start times and ticket types. This is an event venue rather than a club with regular nights: it opens for these concerts only, so check the tickets page before you go. Tables are sold for 2, 4, 6, 7 and 10 people, with a 50 per cent deposit for entry and dinner and the rest paid on the night. Cancelling is not possible, though tickets can be passed on. There is a vegetarian menu, a compulsory staffed cloakroom and a car park under the building. On Friday Night Live evenings dinner is served at 20:00, which is also when the band starts, so you are asked to arrive between 19:30 and 19:45. Handing in your coat is compulsory, as the staff need room to move and the hall warms up. Parking is in the garage under the building, with a maximum height of 2.40 metres, and if you ask your waiter you get 25 per cent off your parking ticket.
