About Comedy Cafe Amsterdam
Comedy Cafe Amsterdam is a stand-up club on the IJdok island, with a view over the IJ and less than a ten-minute walk from Centraal station. Go for an evening of short sets from several comedians in Dutch or English, with a table, a drink and the water outside.
The name has been around since 1994 and now covers two clubs, this one and Southend Comedy Club in Zuid. The club advertises shows seven days a week. Regular formats include Masters of Comedy and Cocktails & Comedy, and there are English-language nights alongside the Dutch line-ups. Shows in other languages, such as Spanish and Turkish, come through too, plus jazz nights and end-of-course shows.
Tickets are sold per show through the website, and the club can cancel up to three hours before the start, in which case you get a refund or another date. The IJdok has a car park right as you arrive on the island, but it must be reserved in advance, and the club points show-goers to its 'Dinner Parking' option. Walkers go out of Centraal on the IJ side, along the Ruijterkade and over the footbridge past the Palace of Justice.
