New Windmill Hall is an arts venue in Upminster that doesn't keep its programme in one lane. It mixes serious and silly without making a fuss about it. Expect a wide spread. Some nights are talks that open up contemporary art for people who don't usually go to galleries. Others are family films, tribute nights, or a disco where the 80s are taken seriously. Line dancing keeps the room busy with people who know the steps. What ties it together is the mix. Art sits alongside cinema, tribute acts and social dancing, and the crowd reflects that. You'll see families, older locals, and people who came for the music and stayed for the talk.
