John Berger: From Life

Berger wrote about art, labour, and politics with equal weight. He documented peasants, migrant workers, AIDS sufferers, and stayed passionate about causes, Palestine above all, when most writers looked away. After decades abroad, his archive came back to the British Library in London, where he was born.
This is a book launch. Tom Overton catalogued Berger's papers and has written his life across a hundred years. He talks to Gareth Evans about a writer who made witnessing a practice. Worth going if you care how images shape thought and politics, or if you want to know a figure who never stopped asking what art was for.
