Tony Bowen's Open Mic Night

Sunday open mic. Free entry, so there's no risk if you just want to see what happens. If you're thinking of playing, get there early. That's how these work: first-come first-served for slots. Tony Bowen runs it, which means someone's thought through the flow and won't let the night turn chaotic.

Open mics work best when there's a mix: three people who've done this before, two first-timers who are nervous, one person who shouldn't be allowed near a microphone but goes anyway. Sunday evening's a good night for it. Less pressure than Friday, more time to sit with a drink.
