Levenslang Amsterdam: Event venue in Bajeskwartier

Age 18+ for club nightsCard onlyLockers

BAJES is a concert and club venue in part of the former Bijlmerbajes prison in Amsterdam-Oost, and it is what the Levenslang address goes by now: the old Levenslang website leads straight to it. You go for techno and club nights in raw prison halls, and for concerts and exhibitions in the same buildings. The three rooms keep their prison names. Blok C is the Centrale Keuken, the old central kitchen. Blok K is the Ketel, the boiler house where Levenslang made its name with the Intercell residency, concrete walls and all. Blok E is the Expeditie, the old dispatch hall. Which rooms open depends on the event. Together they hold up to 2,900 people, and on their own they are small enough for a close concert. BAJES programmes its own nights, rents out the halls and hosts outside organisers, each with their own ticket shop. There are no regular opening hours: everything runs per event. The easiest route is the metro to Spaklerweg (lines 51, 53 and 54) and a ten-minute walk. You can leave your bike at the entrance, and there is no parking on site, though Parking Bajeskwartier at Dijkmeerlaan 549 is nearby. Club nights and day events are 18+. You pay by card, there are lockers, and Blok C is wheelchair accessible with an adapted toilet, while Blok K is not.

What is the minimum age at BAJES?
Club nights and day events are 18+, so bring ID. For other events the age is on the event page.
Is BAJES wheelchair accessible?
Blok C, the Centrale Keuken, is wheelchair accessible and has an adapted toilet. Blok K, the Ketel, is not. For anything you want to arrange in advance, email info@bajes.amsterdam.
Can you pay cash at BAJES?
No, you pay by debit or credit card. There is no cloakroom, but coats and bags fit in the lockers. Earplugs are sold from the machines next to them.
