Natuurspeeltuin Jeugdland: Park in Flevopark, Amsterdam

Free entryFamily-friendlyCafe

Jeugdland is a free adventure playground and children's workshop at the Flevopark in Amsterdam-Oost, and it describes itself as the largest of its kind in the city. Children go to build, climb and get wet, and you go because it costs nothing and keeps them busy for a whole day. The centre of it is the huttendorp, a hut village where children build with tools on loan. Under-eights need an adult with them and everyone needs closed shoes. There is a cable car over the water, a water play area and a natural swimming pool, and between May and September Outdoor & Watersport Jeugdland runs kayaking and sailing. Free walk-in workshops take place on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. You can bring your own food, as long as it is alcohol-free and without a barbecue. The bar is open on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Groups of more than eight should book ahead, and the site also hosts children's parties.
