Vindict Buitenveldert: Venue in Amsterdam

Vindict Buitenveldert is a wine shop on the Arent Janszoon Ernststraat in the south of Amsterdam, one of three Vindict branches in the city alongside the Jordaan and Noord. You come here for advice from vinologists and for a range that runs from single bottles of New World Sauvignon to rare Burgundy crus. The shop doubles as a place to taste. Vindict runs paid wine tastings through the year and some of them take place here in Buitenveldert, at times with the winemakers pouring their own bottles. Sessions range from a single region to broad overview tastings. You sign up in advance through the Vindict website, and everyone taking part has to be 18 or over. Founders Roderick Meijer and Richard Dietz set out to make Dutch wine easy to get hold of, and the company works directly with producers of Dutch Bob wine, the protected designation of origin for regions such as Maasvallei Limburg. The shelves are not only Dutch, though. There is wine from across Europe and the New World, plus a wide choice of whisky and other spirits, and you can order online as well as in the shop.
