Sherlocked is an escape room company inside the Beurs van Berlage at Damrak 247, five minutes on foot from Centraal. Founded in 2014, it runs three rooms in the 1903 national monument, including The Vault, played in a real vault complex. Games last 60 to 90 minutes and run in English, so it suits visitors, couples, friends and team outings.

The rooms
The Alchemist takes 3 to 6 players for 90 minutes and costs from €41 per player. It is for ages 12 and up, and children from 6 can join with their close grown-ups. The Vault takes 4 to 7 players for 80 minutes, is for ages 15 and up, and uses the building's real vaults. The Architect is the entry point: 2 to 6 players for 60 minutes, with teams of two on weekdays only, from €29 per player in a team of six and €129 for two people. Some Wednesday and Sunday slots run in Dutch. Up to 19 people can play across the rooms at the same time.
How booking works
All paid bookings go through the website. Rooms start around every two hours on weekdays, and the venue is open all week. Full opening hours are not published, so choose a slot in the booking calendar. Cancelling is free up to 48 hours ahead. Between 48 and 24 hours you get 50% back, and inside 24 hours nothing.
The building
The Beurs van Berlage was designed by H.P. Berlage and finished in 1903, and it is a national monument. Sherlocked was started in 2014 by Victor van Doorn and Francine Boon. Bistro Berlage next door is an easy place to meet before you play.
Groups and access
For bigger groups, Parlay is a group game for 12 to 50 people, held at a second location at Handboogstraat 12, a minute from Koningsplein. Most rooms are not wheelchair accessible. The exception is The Architect: with a week's notice by email to hello@sherlocked.nl, the building's management opens a special entrance.
Getting there
Centraal is five minutes away on foot. Trams 2, 4, 12, 13, 14 and 17 stop at Dam. If you drive, the nearest garages are Q-Park Bijenkorf and Oosterdok.

- What is The Vault at Sherlocked?
- It is an 80-minute room for 4 to 7 players, played in the real vaults of the Beurs van Berlage. It is for ages 15 and up. Book it through the Sherlocked website.
- Can two people play at Sherlocked?
- Yes, in The Architect, but only on weekdays. It costs €129 for the two of you and takes 60 minutes. The other rooms need at least three or four players.
- Is Sherlocked in Dutch or English?
- The rooms run in English. The Architect is also available in Dutch on some Wednesdays and Sundays. Check when you book.
