About LAG hacklab

LAG is a hacklab in the Binnenpret, the former squat complex by the Vondelpark in Amsterdam-Zuid, and the place to go if you want to fix a laptop, install Linux or argue about what technology does to people. It has no members: a loose group of regulars and occasional visitors runs it on donations and benefits.

During opening hours you can drop in to pick up old hardware from the giveaway shop, get help with repairing a device, use the machines, make music or build a website. There is mate to taste, and you can bottle your own at the lab's mate brewery. The collective says its work is about questioning our relation to technology, so expect conversation as well as repairs.

LAG grew out of the Squatting Linux User Group. It sits on the back grounds of the Binnenpret, on the spot of the old Fenomeen sauna, reached from the Eerste Schinkelstraat. Neighbours in the complex include concert hall OCCII, eetcafé MKZ, the anarchist library and Radio Patapoe. Check the lab's own site before you go.
