Art Amsterdam Spui

SundaysMarch to DecemberFree entryArt

On Sundays from March to December the Spui fills with stalls of art sold by the people who made it. Ceramics, paintings, prints, sculpture, glass and drawings come straight from the studio to the stall, with no gallery in between. That means you can ask the maker about the work. I amsterdam lists entry as free and the market as weather permitting. You might know it by an older name: the city's market data still calls it Artplein Spui, and that is the same square on the same day.

When to go

Sundays from 11am to 6pm, from March to December, weather permitting, according to I amsterdam. Its calendar runs to 20 December 2026. The city's older market data gives 10am as the start, so we follow the newer listing. On a day with bad weather, check before you travel.

Good to know

Entry is free. Prices are set by each artist, and you buy directly from them. We could not open the market's own website when we checked, so the details on this page come from I amsterdam. The book market is on the same square on Fridays.
