De Fik Garden: Event venue in Nieuw-West, Amsterdam

About De Fik Garden

De Fik Garden is a volunteer-run party and culture space on the Sportparklaan in Amsterdam Nieuw-West, operated by the non-profit De Fik. Collectives and promoters bring their own stages here, so you go for the party or gathering of that day rather than for a house programme.

De Fik was founded in 2004 in the Zaanstreek by Nico Redeker, who still chairs the foundation. It came out of the local punk scene and worked for years from a warehouse on the Zuiddijk, supporting neighbourhood parties, exhibitions, theatre, protests and parades with light, sound and decor. The Garden carries that attitude to Amsterdam: the site calls it a place to experiment and grow weird, and Amsterdam Dance Event describes it as a raw, ever-evolving space.

Practical rules are clear. You must be 18 or older with valid ID, bags may be checked, and groups of more than three may be refused. Formal suits, uniforms, business wear and sports-club merchandise are not part of the dress code, and a ticket does not guarantee entry. Smoking is outside only, and hosting collectives can add their own rules. The Garden opens per event, so the ticket pages decide when you can come.
